Tip of the Week: Create a Filing System to Better Manage Your Emails

Just like a paper filing system, you can organize your email messages by subject, client and other indicators. I use Microsoft Exchange which is cloud based and allows me to access my emails from any connected device and send files and messages from my phone.

As a REALTOR®, it can be hard to keep everything organized. I create folders and subfolders for everything. So I have a folder in my cloud-based email that is for sellers and subfolders for each seller I’m working with at the time. Then I do the same folder and subfolder system for each buyer I’m working with too.

    ...and when the deal is complete, i check to be sure that i have all the neccessary documents (email attachments) in my deal file (saved in drop box/favorite cloud storage) then file in the appropriate closed deal folder (seller, buyer, rental) 🙂

    I have done this for years.  The only issue I have found is when you have to change computers those folders and their contents usually don't transfer easily.
