NAR’s Advocacy Work Towards COVID-19

Updated 03/25/2020

The coronavirus pandemic continues to impact the real estate industry. NAR continues to release helpful guides for REALTORS® to adapt and navigate through this extraordinary circumstances and we are closely monitoring the updates to be able to provide the relevant information to our members.
As the federal and state governments address the COVID-19 (coronavirus) crisis, NAR is advocating for the interests of the real estate industry.

In summary NAR is urging lawmakers to:

  • Consider REALTORS® as small business owners so they can receive aid for small businesses as part of the stimulus package.
  • Make virtual transactions legally acceptably so that closing documents can be notarized remotely (currently allowed in 23 states)
  • Consider the real estate business to be an essential businesses that can remain open during “stay-in-place” or “shelter-in-home” ordinance

NAR has also released open house guidelines. If your state is enforcing the “shelter in place” mandate, all broker/agents need to follow the law in their state. If your state is allowing open houses to take place, NAR is highly recommending agents to use other ways to market properties during this time. Important Update on May Meetings

Updated 03/18/2020

Due to recent updates surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) NAR has announced that it will deliver their legislative meetings virtually. RRC is working on converting our May Meetings experience to a virtual conference as well. This includes meetings with the board, committees, masterminds, the FVP debate and other meetings scheduled adjacent to NAR’s midyear meetings.

We are working on a new schedule and are looking for appropriate virtual conference platform at this time.

As always we will keep you informed of any updates we have – including the new date and schedule.

If you reserved your hotel through NAR, your registration will be automatically cancelled; no deposits have been processed. Regarding your airfare, please contact your air carrier as soon as possible and seek a refund or credit.

We appreciate your understanding, and please know we will do everything we can to still host a productive event virtually.

Please email with any questions you may have at this time.
