An open-door policy may be a nice sound bite, but not everyone makes time to cross your threshold. Routine meetings really help in keeping communication flowing among my staff of 11. My daily routine is to help my team set their routines. Our full team has a daily 15-minute huddle and a weekly 90-minute meeting. We also hold bi-weekly meetings where team members role-play to work through challenges, and I meet each week one-on-one with each salesperson. This helps everyone understand what’s expected of them and how we can work together to help each other.
