Merging with a Complementary Business Can Help Broker/Owners Stay Active in a Less Demanding Role

After my long-time administrative employee and assistant left to pursue another business, I decided to merge my business with the independent business of my husband’s and his business associate. The transaction established the three of us as equal partners and allots revenues based on three factors: sales commissions, management fees and a share of overall profits. This arrangement has allowed me to cut my time commitment to my business in half.
