Licensees are required to complete 16 hours of continuing education every two years. 8 of those hours are core and must include Ethics (3 hours), Fair Housing (2 hours), Legal Updates and Emerging Trends (1 hour), Real Estate Agency (1 hour), and Real Estate Contracts (1 hour).
NOTE: Post-License education will not be accepted as continuing education credit.
Effective January 1, 2016, any active broker or salesperson who has renewed their license at least once must complete a Board-approved Legal Updates (LU) Continuing Education (CE) course that includes instruction on “flood hazard areas and the National Flood Insurance Program” (Flood Content) to renew their active license.
Any active broker or salesperson who has renewed their license at least once and who has a license expiration date after December 31, 2015, must complete a Board-approved LU CE course with Flood Content to renew their active license even if the licensee has already completed a Board-approved LU CE course that DID NOT include Flood Content during their current two-year license term.
