Iowa Real Estate Licensees are required to take 36 continuing education hours every 36 months.

12 of the 36 hours must be in mandatory courses including 8 hours of Law and 4 hours of Ethics.

Iowa Commission accepts any courses sponsored by the National Association of REALTORS to meet the 24 hour elective requirement.  Up to 24 hours may be taken by coorespondence/home study during each 3 year renewal period.  During each 3 year renewal period a course may be taken for credit only once.  A course may be repeated for credit only if the course numbers and instructors are different.
